Proud to be a Girl Scout

I liked scouting when I when was young. The lessons learned were invaluable. I am even more in love with scout now that I am a Troop Leader. It is a wonderful feeling seeing my scouts (kindergarten & 1st graders) learning leadership skills, build character, gain success skills, as well as do service projects. They even learn business skills and set goals when we sell cookies. (And speaking of cookies, COMING SOON!)

I just read an article in Essence Magazine about First Lady Michelle Obama becoming National Honorary President of Girl Scouts of the USA! Wow! Talk about proud... I am loving this. I can't wait to show my scouts. I think I will a make a copy to give to my parents tomorrow night.

Hit me up for cookies....

So Excited!!!

Music is the soundtrack of life. Of my life anyway. As far back as I can remember, I can put a song to whatever I am feeling or whatever is happening in my life. Right, I'm so excited! Ya know, the Pointer Sisters! And I just can't hide it!

I am a publisher! There I said it. And yes, I did it! I published the first issue of Urban Faith Magazine in December of 2009. After many years of being afraid of what other people would think, I stepped out on FAITH. I came to the realization that God has truly supplied all of my needs. He has given me the skills and the knowledge to survive here on earth.

I know we all have had tough times, especially in these economically crazy times. I, for one had come to a point where it was literally do or die. So I sat down one day to re-evaluate my life. I turned 40. I didn't have the career I had dreamed about practically all of my life. What I did have, though, is knowledge, skills, and experience in a wide variety of fields which could lead me to where I needed/wanted to be.

And so, on this first leg of what I call re-inventing myself, I present to you: Urban Faith Magazine. Check out the website, read the magazine. It is my hope that you are empowered, enlightened, and encouraged about what you read.

Urban Faith Magazine is read by a national audience. It is an urban Christian lifestyle and gospel magazine. It is fast becoming the leading minority-owned and operated Christian/gospel magazine. URBAN FAITH MAGAZINE attracts thousands of readers from all over the world seeking to satisfy their want for an alternative to secular publications that represents a Christian lifestyle.

I really hope you enjoy.

Urban Faith Magazine...Unique Voices. Bold Faith.
